Neither but both are in the general area.
Aberdeen is some way off but Edith Cavell is very close.

All the peaks in this area look the same. And they also have a river and a road at the base

That's the Canadian Rockies

. Well some of it at least. I'm standing near a popular waterfall.
I can't recall if I could see nearby Edith Cavell from there but definitely saw it that morning.

Mt. Alberta?

Getting cold. This one is on the eastern side of the Icefields Parkway.
Edith Cavell is somewhere behind me and there is no significant/named peak between it and what I'm looking at.

Its South Island - and not the Marlborough Sounds

Quail island on the left. Photo taken from the hills above Governors Bay/Allandale, south of Christchurch.

Correct - I would have said a view over Lyttleton Harbour from the Port Hills, but there you go.

I have been there only once, but I have to be honest, from the photo I could not really recognise the place, is too dark.

France. What I need to know is the name of the famous traverse starting/ending from the top of the ridge, where the mountaineers are standing. Don't forget to congratulate me for the panoramic shot.

Agreed. I looked at both localities, but photo evidence I found was ambiguous so had an each way bet

That's it, aka Le‘ahi in Hawaiian. Always fun to do if you're in Waikiki, despite it getting busy at times.
I've done it a couple of times now, well worth the trivial $1-00 US entry fee IMHO.
