It's got to be the pool between Orion and Pegasus. This is the view looking up towards Orion.

I've never payed close enough attention to realise, but yes, it's in the valley before Eros

I'm on the Ducane range somewhere, and looking at Eros. But I'm not really near Lake Selene

The Walls area extends to Cathedral Mt and the Mts of Jupiter...and about that sealed road...

Agreed but Pine Tier Lagoon is south of those? (my answer is wrong anyway) OK the road is more major than I perceived.
Might be a process of elimination. Is the road the Lyell Hwy?

I didn't think it extended that far either eggs. I'm still struggling with the relative placement of peak, road and lake.
So, must be in the LSC general area, north of the highway. I'll have another try and guess that you could be on Mt Gell and that is Lake King William.

The lake is correct, but I am yet to get to Gell.
Lake St Clair was often in view.
