If so, I thinking it might be an unnamed lake in the vicinity of Agnew. But that's probably not nearly obscure enough!

Yes, that is Barn Bluff.
No, it is not in the vicinity of anything named Agnew. Nor is the lake unnamed, though it may be a little obscure.

I've seen those road guide posts on the Gingerbread Track, but the photo doesn't look like it's been taken on that track.

There aren't a lot of these markers on this walk, just a few as the alpine area is reached and the track peters out.
