To get back to the game, my first thought was Steanes Tarn from the side of Picton.

Yes, only announced a day or two back. The entire
Richea genus has been subsumed into
Dracophyllum.
Why? Probably because the taxonomists were bored and decided to mess everyone around. It happens more often than most people realise. For instance, both platypus and echidna are commonly so known because they were the original generic names given to them, and then someone realised those names had already been allocated to completely different animals (in both cases, some obscure invertebrate, IIRC).
As with fagus, we will still all call that *&%$#! stuff scoparia.
Ahhh, another "from where am I looking at Pelion West" shot?

That was quick, Eggs!

Not hard, if you follow the pad far enough around, even when it ducks down a bit - which is easy to miss when you're looking up.
This is the wrong gully:
This is the right one:

- Not a game photo

There's been discussion for some time. The official change happened a couple of weeks ago

This is the mega-fun I-can't-believe-I-climbed-that gully. Then you find the right one on the way down.

You rock monkey, you! You've been having me on all this time.
Btw is that Artillery Knob, Eggs? (And Lots Wife is well worth a visit.

)
Thu 03 Jun, 2021 8:50 am
The peak is not Artillery Knob, but you are close. Click in on it to get a clue from what's on top.
Thu 03 Jun, 2021 9:42 am
Are you looking back at the summit of Hansons Peak from the southeast?
And that could be Mt Campbell behind? Which sort of lines up with one of my photos from closer in.

Indeed John. We were off track but heading towards Artillery Knob and looking back at "Hansons" Peak with its day walkers on it.
