There's a different Abel around here, but it's not the nearest landmark.

Not Ben Lomond. First guess was closer. In fact, you might be able to see yours from here if you climbed this one and had a nice long lens.

Something to do with Hydro 'exploration". I've seen similar items in the Snowies. There was another maybe 20 metres closer to the landmark in question, but it had burnt down, fallen over and was trying to rust back into the ground.

It's not Belton or Tyenna but you're in the right locality Graham. Just need to set your sights differently .

I mistakenly thought the LHS block was part of Mt Bridges - but it will be the next block north below the Lake Newdegate Track
Which places you about midway along the Tarn Shelf, close to James Tarn.
