A good assumption. I had trouble working out what things in the photo were exactly on the map, even knowing where I was! But if you can work out that it's the southern end of the northern half of the lake that's nearest to the camera, I think you've only got one very high place to chose from.

Edit: Correct me if I'm wrong, Eggs, but I think we're looking at Thureau Hills, Jukes Range, Darwin, and Sorell at the back. Mt Owen out of the photo to the right.
