Not Gould, but in the right park

Perrins?

haha, tks Tortoise & NNW, fresh but have been a long-time lurker and definitely not in the same league as the experienced group taking part.
Nice to see something I recognised though and hopefully this isn't too easy.

Good sharp image, plenty to zoom in on. I think I'm going to like you.
Dundas and Read at the back. You'd have to be somewhere on Murchison, methinks.

Correct! and thanks.
Over to you.

Not the high point, but these cairns do mark a very neat lookout. On what?

Rats Castle?

Not an Abel, but you're close.
Tue 24 Oct, 2023 3:05 pm
The ample cairnage suggests it may be a high point in it's own right.
There's Headlam Hill, which looks like it might fit, a little lower than Split Rock.
Tue 24 Oct, 2023 3:52 pm
It is on Headlam, although the true summit is a little further west.

Thanks, I've driven along that road a few times but only ever done the Pine Lake doddle and Projection Bluff.
This is too easy but we had such a stunning view that day:

- Panoramic view of Mt Pelion East to West et al from the Overland Track en route to Lake Windermere,
Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair NP

Just before you drop steeply down to Lake Windermere on the Overland track?

I'm pretty sure that's the spot Lucas. There's an informal lookout just before you descend. All yours.

It's a very good vantage point that one.
Next - what lake am I walking alongside?

Fossil Lake?
Thu 26 Oct, 2023 5:35 am
Not Fossil Lake, but not too far away from there as the crow flies.
Thu 26 Oct, 2023 9:04 am
Is it Lake Fenton?
Thu 26 Oct, 2023 4:49 pm
It is indeed Lake Fenton, from the track that runs along its northeastern side.

666 views and not a bite. This isn't difficult. I'm on an abel with a marked, signposted track.

I don't think it's correct but it does look a lot like Cape Hauy.

I forget the name of the bluff, but it looks like the gulch on the Tasmania peninsula enroute to the blade. I haven't been out that way since pws and twc ruined it.
