Those peaks are wonderful off-track walking. Mostly easy going as long as you get the basic nav right.
Staying in SOz. Name the gap up ahead.

Its curious that Buckaringa Gorge looks well forested from the other side.
Wed 28 Aug, 2024 2:03 pm
There's more vegetation in it than this shows, but it's not particularly thick.

In the Flinders the vegetation is often governed by the underlying rock types - which I think on this side is Limestone - hence not much.
Next one in SA still - I am on a named peak

Mt Chambers?

Yes - near sunset on Mt Chambers

Got lucky and found a similar image, albeit without the ambience of your sunset eggs.

I can't really pay that Graham. I'm not aware of the Wall of Light and think it is possibly a made up name.
The only reference I can find for that name is a commercial image for sale of the same view. Happy if proven otherwise.
You are in the frame, but I'm looking for the name of either the main feature or the lookout near my location.

I have a photo of that particular block at back early on the Valley of the Winds walk - before Karu lookout.

Yes that's correct eggs, I'm walking away from Karu Lookout towards the track head.

No - this is not Mt Giles

Zonder?

Did you mean Mt Sonder? But it is not there.

Impressive ridge line.
I'll keep milking my one and only NT trip from last month:

The only other option I could think of was Kantju Gorge & I couldn't find my photos of either... so based on your knees I guessed the one nearest to the car park,
Back to NSW. There are v. few visitors to this creek. It flows v. steeply into an often visited river below the shadowed hill.

Haha, knee is really good now, almost normal. We did the base walk, Kantju Gorge and some other things. I'm actually down in a gully bushwalking right now. Surprised I've got reception. I'll have a better look at the current photo when I get home. Not ringing any bells right now.

No.

I assume that's a cryptic clue, that my brain is refusing to process.
Try a WAG, Wheeny Creek and the Colo?

Not Colo, walk_fat_boy was in the right catchment.
The family whined on a parched ridge and was very happy when I returned from this particularly lengthy feature.

As you mentioned it, I think I have to give it to you. The last 500m of Megalong Creek descends over 100m with numerous waterfalls - access is along the fenceline off 6' track.
My family remained at the Dry Ridge Winery and were slightly happy when I returned from Megalong Creek.
