Hi

I am sure there are some posts already here on this topic but I Can't Find them, so forgive me for asking again.

I am planning in Mid Feb to walk through the WOJ via the Never Never Back to Lake St Clair, my plan is as follows.

Day 1 Lake Ada Carpark to Lake Sally 15.2K
Day 2 Lake Sally -Dixon's kingdom, including the Temple and King Davids Throne 12.1K
Day 3 Dixons Kingdom Hut to Junction Lake 18.9K
Day 4 Junction Lake to Windy Ridge Hut 10.9K
Day 5 Windy Ridge to Pine Valley, including the Labyrinth 16.7K
Day 6 Pine Valley to Narcisus hut, including the acropolis 16.8K
Day 7 Boat to Lake st Clair and return to Launceston

My Questions are
1. Does the plan seem reasonable ever,
2. Any suggested additions
3. Are you able to use the windy ridge hut if you come in through the never

I think day 5 is going to be fairly long. There's so much to see at the Labyrinth and it will take a few hours to get there from windy ridge. If you could stretch your itinerary you could camp a night on the Labyrinth. Beware of the ants. You aren't supposed to use the overland huts if you're not a paid overland track user. At that time of year there will probably be a member of parks staff at Windy Ridge to oversee it. I just camped on one of the tent platforms. Beware of the possums. The Pine Valley hut is not included in this, though it will probably be busy. Day 3 may also be long depending on the state of the track, I've only walked part of it so can't really comment.

I did day 3 last year on a walk going from junction lake to dixons last year , it was very long. Do you think it is reasonable to go from dixons through the never never skip windy ridge and camp at pine valley. This would give me extra time there, given you are not supposed to stop at windy ridge.

Not anymore thankfully. Only the usual parks pass is required for that.

That is good to know. Hopefully there will be space in the hut
