Up the top of Warners track?
Wed 08 Jan, 2025 8:04 pm
Closer, but still a good way off.

Drys Bluff from Liffey Bluff?
Thu 09 Jan, 2025 7:39 am
Closer, but still no. The bluff is not an Abel although I could see two (not-a-bluff) Abels from here. The nearest peak (and my first target for the day) is on the peakbaggers' list, as is the bluff.

It is a bit like the area going to Brady's lookout

It's actually a lot like the area going to Bradys, because that's where it was. The bluff is Billop, back left of centre.
All yours.

Not that far west
Fri 10 Jan, 2025 2:39 pm
Ronald Cross?
Fri 10 Jan, 2025 2:51 pm
Nope, you are a bit too far south, but if you went east from sandym guess and north from tortys guess where they intersect would be pretty much on the money

That would be around Mt Arrowsmith.

perhaps The Beehive with Calders Lookout in the foreground?
Fri 10 Jan, 2025 6:17 pm
The Beehive looking over Calders it is, there is some surprisingly nasty scrub in the gullies south of the summit of said Beehive

Might be quicker if someone can just name the peak in view

One of Tas highest peaks...

Mt Pelion West.
From Borradaile Plains?
Wed 15 Jan, 2025 5:06 pm
Pelion West is correct - but actually from the slopes of Mt Murchison

That looks like "stack of bricks" off Bruny Island so I think you are down near Courts Island near Cape Bruny on Bruny Island.

That’s Bruny Island in the hazy background. And just to the left of that stack is a well-known peak - an Abel in fact.

Burying Ground Point?

No, you’ve gone the wrong side of Bruny

Shipstern bluff?

That’s in the right area. The land in the mid-ground, with the stack on the end, is an island, with a hazy Bruny behind it.

The Island would be Betsey so you would be at Goats beach I'm guessing.
