I'm going purely from memory eggs. Is this on one of the "arrow" tracks at Mt Whitfield/Lumley Hill?

Good question eggs, I've walked most of those tracks but my own photos aren't helping me.
I'm going to guess the lower branch of blue arrow.

Not Blue John. And given the limited choices - I will say it is the newer Green Trail [western side] and hand it over to you.

I think green is the one that I've only partially walked.

Let's stay in QLD:

Correct eggs. I was very tempted but it was June and despite the appearance the water was freezing.
A few brave (young) people went in and they were shivering uncontrollably afterwards.

I enjoyed riding my rented bicycle around the eastern half of Rotto. Having alfresco dinner at the pub with a Quokka sitting under our table was another highlight. Explored a number of small coves etc on my ride. One of the salt lakes is visible, which limits the possibilities. I'll try Little Parakeet Bay.

It does have an air of familiarity. I parked my bike at the (not little) Geordie Bay cafe and had a coffee there.

I'm pretty sure that's the Fassifern Valley. Among other spots around there I've been on Mt Edwards, which has views like that. And it sits above Lake Moogerah, which might account for the amphibious clue.
