Oooooh, so close, Reubs! Do I give it to you? Or make you think a bit more about precisely where our tents might have been? Hmm. Let me think...

Bit of a hint..
I am looking at an Abel from a summit on the HWC list..
Mon 10 Feb, 2025 4:47 pm
To start narrowing it down, is it in the NE?
Mon 10 Feb, 2025 8:11 pm
Not in the northeast sorry
Wed 12 Feb, 2025 6:27 am
I will narrow it down to the northwest..
Wed 12 Feb, 2025 10:18 am
Are you looking at Mt Tor?
Wed 12 Feb, 2025 2:52 pm
Very close
Wed 12 Feb, 2025 3:18 pm
So... Black Bluff from Mt Tor?

I think the only problem with that is that Mt Tor is an Abel, not just a HWC list summit. I'll try Loongana.

Duckless tarn?
I remember doing the loongana range years ago, it was a slow scrubby little sucker

That's the one. Nobody I know has ever seen any there either, on multiple visits.

Yep, I almost commented before. I recall commando crawling up the hill under horizontal, and employing a variety of other gymnastic manoeuvres for an inordinate amount of time in the unforecast rain, only to pop out on top in a cloud. But as my friend and I both had had cabin fever, it was a strangely satisfying challenge. Not the best line to take, though.

Im not sure there is a good line to take for that one.
Thanks Torts.
I feel like this one's been posted before but my options are very limited these days so whoops, get over it

The Loongana Range is a funny one! It was my first time in Horizontal Scrub; I can relate to your stories Tortoise..
For those who are interested, we actually descended off the northern side of the range through wonderful Myrtle rainforest, before hitting forestry roads. It was incredibly easy!

Frenchmans Cap from/near Tahune Hut?

Well that's weird. I can see that Reubs has posted a reply, but it isn't visible.
So I don't know if my answer is right or not. Maybe post the response again Reubs and see if that fixes it?
I assume there is some issue with the forum software as I've seen multiple similar instances recently.

Yes, John. The admins haven't found a reliable fix for the problem at this stage. Sometimes posting again works - if the person realises theirs isn't visible.
Looking at my photo, I reckon you're safe to go ahead and post.
