I'm doing a walk (3 of us), in 3 weeks time, starting along the King William Range to KW III, then planning on dropping down, via the first (abandoned) airstrip to the Gordon river, and packrafting down towards Vale of Rasselds, where will do a side trip to Lake Rhona and surrounds, before continuing down the Gordon until the start of the gorge, where will head off back on foot.
I'm wondering if anyone can help with conditions for packrafting the upper Gordon?
I've seen one account where the group did so from the Lake Rhona track and on thru the gorge, with the river a bit low in places.
Looking on google earth there is quite a bit of fallen trees, and I'm wondering how practical it is to packraft?
Anyone with any knowledge on the current conditions of the upper Gordon?
I see its been reasonably dry this year to date, with some current rain.
Thanks for any advice.
