I am quite happy that Rachel posted a new photo ;)

If you are right Mark - that would make the plateau at rear left Ben Lomond and the peak on the right rear Ben Nevis.

Oops, sorry, I didn't read eggs's post as an answer seeing as he didn't name the river. I thought it was more of a hint. Nothing like interpreting things how you want them to read  ! I just get so excited when I actually know where these places are

You're right Mark, I thought you might have been there and I'd forgotten it was similar to the photo in the book. I went up East Tower which is a great little walk through the forest from the boom gate, then an excellent view from the top although unfortunately you're not allowed up there because there's a fire tower there. A gate, halfway up all all the steps with no sign at the boom gate or at the bottom of the steps to tell you that you won't be allowed up.
West Tower would be a good walk too but it's off track, although I think it would be reasonably easy, and I already felt isolated enough at East Tower and got spooked about 50m into the walk, turned tail and headed back to the car, disappointed with myself. I ended up spending some time wandering round an interesting tumble of giant rocks further down that appeared to be a wombat city.

Sure it was Wombats? In the ABELS book Bill says there are (or were) ferel goats living up there. We have done West Tower and didnt see any goats sadly, Well besides ther one or two in our walking group....
We went up from a forestry road rather than going from East Tower.

Pic coming soon......

Goats don't have square poo...

I wondered about going up from that forestry road, but I think the walk from East Tower would be a good one. It looked nice. I just need to find a peak bagging buddy to go with to the more out of the way places.

How were Stacks and Wilmott Bluffs? I've been keen to do Stacks for about, let me see, 26 years!

It was a well informed guess. The file says you went on May 8, so I knew you had been up there recently, and it had to be somewhere on the central plateau for it to be that flat.

This one shouldn't be too hard either

Haha I've seen a few, not all of them though. I've given up on posting photos on there, it is too time consuming.

Where is this ridge?

Yes it is, but I'd rather not have to do it twice. I might load some up soon, simply because exams start next week and I need to procrastinate.

I didn't expect you to get that one quite as fast. It is Cradle, on a 35 degree summers day, still with a bit of snow hanging around.

So this could be fairly tough - Kemp's Hill?

PS - with the state of the people in your photo, I would have a hard time identifying anyone

Ok...
You are on your way to the South Picton Range.
Burgess Bluff & Anderson Bluff the 2 prominences.
Abrotonella 'Rise' is what you are referring to.
Mt Chapman is on the right just out of view.
