Indeed, I nice walk through rainforest.

That was a wild guess - I haven't been to Bruny since I was young.
This one may be a little harder - Where am I camped??

It looks kind of like Mt Wright/ Thumbs area, but I'm sure that it's not right
Fri 04 Jun, 2010 1:11 pm
Your right, your not right.

Sun 06 Jun, 2010 7:32 pm

Sun 06 Jun, 2010 7:38 pm

Moonlight Ridge?
Mon 07 Jun, 2010 12:05 am
I was trying to identify the peak at the back and I could only think of Hill 1 on Moonlight Ridge, but looking through photos and maps I cannot match it.
This is still a very wild guess as I cannot place the background peak - but what about Calders Lookout from the track over Mt Arrowsmith?
Mon 07 Jun, 2010 6:15 am
Not Moonlight ridge. Not Arrowsmith or Calders. Very very open through Arrowsmith to Calders. This peak is surrounded by scrub.
The peak at the back is a peak no-one in our "peakbagging" group has claimed. And it's worth 2 points. The peak in the shot is also unclimbed by any of us.

Is it Mt Pollux?
Mon 07 Jun, 2010 7:40 am
Mt Pollux? where would that put me?? On Federation?? Or Geeves Bluff?
Mon 07 Jun, 2010 7:41 am
It would have to be Geeves Bluff, you aren't high enough for Feders, unless you used lots of zoom
Mon 07 Jun, 2010 7:43 am
I am not on Geeves Bluff. It's not Pollux
Picture just hit 100 views! NOICE
Mon 07 Jun, 2010 7:44 am
Oh you are loving this aren't you
Mon 07 Jun, 2010 7:45 am
Yup! Decided to take a hard stance on this pic, see how long it takes.....
Mon 07 Jun, 2010 7:48 am
Was I in the right direction? I thought it might have been either in the Rays or the Norolds
Mon 07 Jun, 2010 7:49 am
Sorry, taking a hard stance means no easy clues.
It's not Pollux.
The 2 people I know to have climbed this peak said they got back in darkness. And it's under 4 k's from a popular campsite.
MJD would know this one... pity he hasnt shown up in the game for a while..............
There is a bit of zoom in this shot

Mt Leillateah?
Tue 08 Jun, 2010 1:16 pm
It wouldn't be Leillateah Walker, I was with ILUVSWTAS on that one, ie. we have both done it.
The peak in the foreground looks like Quartzite (ie. quite probably in the South West).
The ranges in the background look like Dolerite.
Does this help anyone geographically / geologically?
Tue 08 Jun, 2010 1:36 pm
I was hoping you would just come up with an answer stu
Areas of quartzite that border dolerite = Denison Range, Frenchmans out to the Raglan Range, Schnells Ridge area right through the Arthurs, the Sentinals/Coronets area.
if it is a "lot of zoom" then it could be around the West Coast
The phrase "The 2 people I know to have climbed this peak said they got back in darkness. And it's under 4 k's from a popular campsite."
Makes me think maybe he didn't actually take this picture? Unless the "peak" he is referring to is not the one he is on?
