Mt Doris area. Initially I thought the unnamed peak to the north of Pelion East, but I can see a ridge extending out from the boulder on the right. You're not high enough to be heading up Ossa proper. And I do remember a large number of cushion plants in that area.

I'm not bothering much with this game since I moved all my photos to another computer. So many photos, I needed a dedicated photo computer.
Now I have nothing to reference with. Yes, I have my mind - my memory. As I said, now I have nothing to reference to...
Perhaps it is the unnamed peak to the north of Pelion East - I certainly remember a good view of Lake Ayr from there.

I'm not on a mountain, but between two. Some might recognize this photo as one similar to one I've displayed before.
This is actually a hack edit, I adjusted the levels to bring in a bit of foreground detail, then knocked the quality right down so as to make it upload-friendly. And that was an edit from the basic JPG from the camera, perhaps I should fire up the photo computer and see if I can impress you. Guess what I bought...

Not having been to the area I can only go on what I've seen in pictures and from afar. Ossa on the left, Peast on the right, can see pwest and barn thru the gap,

I suspect this may be a bit pedantic - but I presume you mean you were between Cathedral and the Twin Spires?

You really will have to scoot into parts of the OT Mark :wink:

Ducaine Hut is way down low on the lower side of Castle Crag.
It is fairly well surrounded by forest - though I think you can see Cathedral & might get a glimpse of Pelion East .
There is no way you would be able to see Pelion West through Pelion Gap - which is much higher.

Sorry, I've been away, had to go make a picture frame for a customer.
So yes Eggs is right but I feel I am being a bit too pedantic if I cannot give Cathedral as a correct answer, certainly no great distance away.
So maybe whoever posts a pic first? I dunno.
Mark, Eggs is right. Do the Overland track. Nike. I mean, Just do it!

Actually, here's a photo from the same spot with Cathedral in the foreground... Demonstrating the good use of Tyvek.

Sure is, I've stayed at the accommodation place, very nice for $15 a night, showers, stoves etc etc.

My initial thoughts were north east......sort of looks like Stacks Bluff area......maybe somewhere towards that end of the Ben Lomond plataeu?
