Soggy Lady Lake

Wed 08 Sep, 2010 8:45 pm

Hey all,

After Nicks wonderful pics from the other day of Lady Lake in the snow, I thought I'd post some pics (and videos) from our trip this weekend in the wet. More water than I've ever seen up there!

We had a fun time though, despite being stuck in the hut for most of the time. Pics are here!

Good one L8r,
Nice to see the hut in use with such good looking visitors  and to think that with all that water around they managed to keep smiling.

Well lookee at that, that's not the first ABC red beanie to make it to Lady Lake Hut! Nice spot of water too, bet you had fun crossing the creek, or did you take the old horse track?

Dang!

I'm missing the video of our efforts to cross the creek by the looks. I'll see if I can find it! ;)

Yep good to hear you had fun, weather looks better than it was in Devonport actually. When I awoke to steady rain on Saturday I decided my bed was nice and dry and warm and that I might just catch up with you guys on the next one!

Nice one! We were at Waterfall Valley hut when all that rain was falling. I'm sure it was just as wet, but I couldn't see it because it was under all the deep snow. :-)

That plain looks amazing with so much water compared to what we're used to seeing there. Couldn't have worn the camp shoes along the track to the toilet, by the look of it.

It was only barely possible to get to the toilet. There were some flowing streams and some very big deep puddles. You could walk around them in the daylight, but I think nearly everyone avoided the toilet as much as possible in the dark for fear of going for a swim.

I was a colleeage of Simon's - spoke to Brett on Saturday morning, thought home activites looked more fun and dry. Did the coffee places with number one son. Saw two movies, the Tomorrow one and SALT. And made lunch for my father on the Sunday, first time we had the three generations together for over a year.

Thanks for the photo's Speculator.

Next time.....

Thank you for the fantastic ambiance. I'm so glad that you guys do that kind of stuff, for this virtual Tasmanian walker to enjoy. I enjoyed the trip greatly.

I wore my 'thin-soled' Dunlop Volleys while I watched the creek crossings on the vid.
