There's a few spots but its a fairly short walk and most of the camp sites are either up the top near berowra and down the bottom from mt ku ring gai by calna creek. Are you just walking Mt K to Berowra and want something in the middle or is it part of a great north walk. There is one spot in the middle I can think of but I'll have to dig a map out to give you its location

yeah that's right Mic, just want something in the middle, want to take my son, so a small hike for starters, would be a good idea I think.

you could do an out and back from Galston Gorge and have a great night at Crosslands. shame the bridge is still down at Calna. If you carry water you could always camp at Sam's Creek where it meets Berowra Creek. That's about half way

Thanks for the tip Rob, I've heard the Galston gorge is challenging, might be a bit hard for my 6 yr old, that camp site at SAMs creek sounds interesting, might have to explore that on my own one day.

Hi Ya
This might help a bit
http://www.wildwalks.com/bushwalking-and-hiking-in-nsw/berowra-valley-regional-park/mt-kuring-gai-track-to-berowra-station.html

The water in the river is tidal (salty) -- So you will need to carry some in.
There is a nice clearing just before (broken) Calna Creek bridge (4.58km)

People also camp at 5.84km
The clearing right next to Sam's creek does flood at higher tides - so I would be careful their.

Hope you and your son have a great time.

Matt :)

you will also have to keep in mind mate, that the GNW heading north inbetween the crossing of Sams Creek up to the Berowra Link track - on Matt's map inbetween 6.34 to 7.01 klms - is quite a steep ascent !

good tip by robertoman to do Galston to Crosslands.........the facilities at Crosslands are very good. Heading north downhill from Galston Gorge, and after a little waterfall called Small Falls (viewable after/during rain) you reach alongside Berowra Creek and from there alllll the way to Crosslands its relatively flat walking. A short distance before Crosslands - about 1.4 klms - there is a beautiful spot to pitch a tent overnight amoung the trees right beside the GNW. Its known as Berowra Creek Campsite or BlackAsh. Its marked at 4.69 klms on Matt's Wildwalks map here >>>>>

Galston Gorge to Crosslands out and back is one of my favourites.

:D
