Haha that section actually looked much more dramatic than it was - it was a pretty basic shuffle across the face It's somewhere towards the western end of the Southern Traverse section.

Thanks for sharing Nick, very enjoyable & some really atmospheric shots
I have been to Federation & Geeves Bluff but no further - I must pencil in the EA's for later on this year so thanks for inspiring

Beautiful photos! I just read your blog for this trip nickthetasmaniac, and though I would like to traverse the Eastern and Western Arthurs one day, the photos and stories of climbing Federation Peak scare the crap out of me! This quote from your story says it all I think: "...This is one of the few times in my life that I’ve experienced pure and genuine fear – the kind that makes you want to curl into a ball and cry, except you can’t, because you’re clinging to a near vertical cliff and if you slip you die..."!!!
The one person I know who has done Federation made a classical understatement of, "...there were times where the climb wasn't very nice...".
But I will never say never...
