My husband and three friends are planning on walking from just south of Canberra through to Thredbo at the end July and while lists have been made, food organised and rationed, tents bought etc. the poor old snowshoes were brushed off as an "I'll organise them later" item. So now it's later. And there are still no snowshoes. Quotes for hiring them are for $95 for two weeks (the expected length of the walk) which isn't bad but it's about half the cost of a new pair and if they're going to be used again then we may as well buy a pair. They seem like hens teeth second hand but I thought I'd put some feelers out anyway. So if you have a pair that would suit a 170 cm, 70 kg man + 20-ish kg of gear that you don't really use or would like to get rid of please let me know asap. Cheers.
