This is from about 20 minutes ago, from http://cradlemountain.com's webcam. Man, looks like some pretty stuff up there at dusk.

Who had that domain name, I wonder?

http://www.cradlemountain.com/
cradlemountain.com expired on 04/04/2009 and is pending renewal or deletion.

It's been down for a while- it used to be at Cosy Cabins, but the website licence has expired and the new owners haven't been able to renew it. I asked when I was there last- it was an awesome resource! The new managers/owners are trying to get the site back up and running though.

At the moment, it would appear to be a moonless and starless night.

Or else the camera's busted . . .

Well that was a pretty picture Adam........

Actually, I'm glad you posted that- I've been meaning to have a look and see if the webcam is back- it would have been magic up there today.

I don't know what the timeframe is for updates, but come back tomorrow and refresh your browser - it will update.
I've taken the image straight from the source. So what you see here (if you refresh) is what the site hosting the camera will be showing.

What's up with the webcam? Hasn't worked for some time now.

I read somewhere that parks has a password protected cam somewhere around cradle. Is that true? If so, why on earth is it not publicly available?

I think there is a camera at Dove Lake but its probably not public because its on a secure network with no connection to the outside world. Might even be another thread on here somewhere as it has been brought up previously

But that must be easy to rectify! Surely someone made a mistake to hook it up to a secure network.
Unless there is some secret military training camp thing going on around the lake. What other reason could there possibly be for not having the cam available to the world???

(I fear that I'm wrong and it was not a mistake  )

The anticipation is killing me! As if all the iPhone 5, Microsoft Surface, Nokia Lumia Pureview, Tasmap digital maps release and other rumors weren't exciting enough! Not sure I'll survive to October at this rate

Brilliant news. Looks like not much snow around. Handy thing to know for an up and coming walk.

Thanks Parks for the fine effort.

All that's needed now is a powerful spotlight ..
A big screen at the visitor centre, that would cut traffic..

Nah all good, save the endless calls for weather reports I guess.

Yup, might serve to ease pressure, or create more on the access road... I can see tourists racing down to get a view when the window is open.

Where could PWS put one Phil? Melaleuca would be great but not really useful for people contemplating a daytrip to the SW.

Who owns the junk on Tim Shea, Hydro?

I think most of the infrastructure is Hydro for controlling stuff at Strathgordon. I suspect there may be a radio installation that is jointly managed by PWS and Forestry but no computer links.

I suppose its possible to put one anywhere we have computer and internet facilities (and reasonable bandwidth). Nothing permanent at Melaleuca, dial up at Maatsuyker.

The joys of technology. Great view of the car park but appears to be a star burst over Cradle, or more accurately not updated from last night.
