[LOST] sleeping bag, vest, mat. Pretty Plain NSW

Hi - On Sat 1st December, (weekend before last), I hiked out of Pretty Plain Hut after spending the night there and unfortunately lost a 13l heavy duty dry bag that fell off my backpack. I thought I had strapped it on securely but obviously didn't. Lesson learned !!. I didn't notice it was missing until we got back to the Hell Hole Creek fire trail / Tooma ford. I had stepped into a knee deep hole a few kms from the fire trial when coming across one of tussocky grass plains and had fallen heavily. I thought it must have come off there so jogged back to look for it. Being an olive green bag I gave up after a while as I was not sure of the track we had taken across the plain and it was a bit like looking for a needle in a hay stack. When we got home and looked at the photo's of the trip I noticed that it was not on my pack when we visited the Pugilistic Hut Ruins which meant it actually fell off somewhere between Pretty Plain Hut and the ruins. Again - a bit like looking for a needle in a hay stack but we did walk the first couple of kms from the hut along the foot pad that runs along the western side of the valley the hut is in. If it fell off here it maybe found by someone walking into the hut along this track.

I don't hold much hope, but on the off chance someone does stumble over it on the walk into the hut can they leave it at the hut and let me know. I can then hike in and get it, (plus I'll owe you a beer or three !!). Fairly nice down bag, down vest and decent sleep mat in the bag so here's hoping.

Thanks Steve. As I said above I don't hold out much hope but you never know. I was lucky it was a fairly mild weekend as we spent the next night in a tent next to Derschkos hut. Would have been interesting if the temp started falling without a nice warm bag !!
