most common fitness injuries

Injuries suck. They hurt, they induce lethargy, and they’ve been proven to make people sad. Fortunately, several studies have shown that the chances of getting felled by many of the common injuries listed here can often be reduced with neuromuscular training, strength exercises, and flexibility drills. A study published in 2011 found that a 20-minute warm up that included balance, agility, plyometric, and strength exercises lessened the chances of suffering a lower extremity injury, such as an ACL tear or an ankle sprain, by almost 50 percent. True, some injuries, such as a cyclist’s broken collarbone, may require a heaping spoonful of luck to avoid, but a little prep can help prevent problems—from a hamstring strain to Achilles tendonitis.

I don't think I've ever hiked without some sort of injury.

Shin splints lead me to bushwalking as I didn't experience them when walking (as opposed to running), bushwalking gave me a healthy dose of plantar fasciitis, and poorly lifting a box gave me lower back pain which just added an element of complexity to my physical routine - thank god for a pack that properly hip loads. So I have had 3 on this list plus fat pad impingement of the knee.

There you have it, I'm 3/14.

Anyone else care to confess how much they're falling apart?

Right hamstring that keeps playing up and Plantar Fasciitis that flares up occasionally in my right foot. Just part of getting old.

Mmmm getting old....
Last trip out wife broke her ankle.
I use to hate going up hills, now it's going down those same hills which are the killer. Damn those dicky knees.
When it comes to charity, a lot of people will stop at nothing.
