Condition: brand new with tags (ie. unworn).

Price: $260 (free postage within Oz - pretty firm on this price as I am already losing a bit on this one).

Reason for sale: I really love this jacket & will get another in a larger size; I am between medium / large sizes so often have problems...it's just too tight around my back / under the arms as I am a stocky build...pity because it fits perfectly otherwise

You have the right to return it and exchange for one the correct size, do not take an unnecessary loss; just return it in exchange for the correct size, if you still have the receipt it is even easier but one is not needed for an equal exchange.
Just send it back, postage should be less than the loss

Unfortunately this jacket was from a UK online store that only accepted returns before a 14 day expiry...a bit ridiculous given that it took that long to get here in the first place...I stupidly (not the first time) assumed the size would be right...if only there were a global sizing system between manufacturers we wouldn't have to go through this. I think The North Face medium is the only size I can rely on 100% of the time

Have you tried sending them an email anyway stu? They might be perfectly happy to exchange seeing as the delivery time was so long, good for future business too I've had to return a couple of items of clothing due to the ridiculous sizing differences between brands and even though it was to the UK they were happy to exchange for another size. Including the return postage it was still cheaper then buying here too...

Yes, already tried that I'm afraid and also sent a direct email to Mountain Equipment...they put me in touch with a local (if you call NZ local to Tas) distributor but they didn't even bother getting back to me...I would certainly have been happy with an exchange for a larger size...

When buying clothing on line I always go for the next size up (or two if from China) as you can get away with over size , undersize needs to be off loaded or donated to charity
