FS [NSW, Newcastle] Patagonia, Merino, Caldera Cone, MLD.

Once an item is sold, found or thread is no longer needed we move it here. These maybe helpful for historic reasons.

Hi all. More gear to go that's not being utilised.
I thought I culled most of my gear when we moved, now we are unpacking and I'm digging out more stuff.....
All prices include postage, happy to combine items at a reduced rate. Bank Deposit or Paypal, Paypal's pretty simple and instant.

$30 - Mountain Designs 150wt 100% merino leggings, Ladies size 12. Very little use by my wife, only about 3 whole days (she's not that keen on the bushwalking)
Good used condition except for a small tear on the RH thigh near the top where she torn it putting them on with her sharp long nails (first time she wore them). It has been well sewn up.

$30 - MLD (Mountain Laurel Designs) Silnylon Rain Chaps, Medium. Never worn in anger (ie actual rain use)
I have hemmed up the leg attachment tabs a little so they fit me better length wise (Im 5'11"), Also the diameter a little as the were huge around the top of the thigh. My legs are a pretty normal size and if you had huge canons you could easily undo the small stitching which is only about an inch long at the top on the seam.
These are ment to be very breathable to wear (due to the open top design) and popular under longer coats or poncho's.

$45 - Caldera Keg-F System. Brand new, never used ribbed Keg plus all the other items which have been used well. All you need is a lighter and some metho.
The cone has some marks from rolling and the odd burn mark. Still fully fuctional and purely cosmetic.
This stove system is awesome, It's been to NZ and about 5 Aussie trips (including a snow trip). It is very efficient on metho and is an awesome system for anyone wanting to try a lightweight stove.
Only reason I'm selling it as I have 2 other Caldera Cone stoves and pot sets now, yes I'm addicted to the stuff. I had no intention of selling this set, hence I purchased a new fosters pot with my last order from Trail Designs.

Weekly bump.
Honestly I thought some of this stuff would have moved pretty quickly. Oh well.
I'll drop some prices as I'm just happy to see it move on. Everything is $5 lower now than above (I cannot edit the original listings)

It's just 3mm bungie cord that goes under your shoe. Better off replacing that with some dyemma or something more abrasion resistant.

Don't mean to troll but Dyneema has very low abrasion resistance. Elastic is cheap and easily sourced.

Thread drift (gotta love it), No trolling Strider. All good.
I would argue otherwise. Or in my experience anyway.
I use the 2.2mm Z-line Slick Dyemma cord Zpacks sells as the under straps on my short montbell scree gaiters. (with trail runners)
One set of straps has done Rees Dart Track & the Routeburn in NZ last April, Queen Charlotte Track this year along with the Larapinta Trail and three times a week for training runs/walks. I'd say the one set of straps has been used now for about 16 months. They are fraying a little but honestly I'm keen to see how long they last. Larapinta tore up the rubber on my shoes pretty good but just frayed the straps. I was very, very suprised and took plenty of spare cord as I expected it to not last on the sharp rocks. But it did.
Prior to that I did try 2mm Dynaglide (which is also dyneema) and it only last about a month. (Same stuff I made my whoopie sling hammock suspension out of)
3mm Bungie I was swapping out every 2 days in 2011 on the Routeburn so I'm no huge fan of that.

I'm guessing there might be different types of dyemma cord as the 2mm stuff used for my hammock suspension was hopeless compared to the zpacks line.
Obviously the zpacks slick line is pretty darn resistant to abrasion.

Are those cords 100% Dyneema, or are they sheathed with something else? Interesting!

No sheath over the line. It is slick though and a little stiff, all made from the same dyneema. You would have to ask zpacks for more specific info.
All I know is it's tough stuff.

Off memory without them onhand they are pretty large. I hemmed them in a little and I have quite solid legs myself so you would just need to unpick that and they are a lot bigger diamter at the top.
