Walks in Northern Kosci - updated book version available?

My family and I plan to spend this Easter based in the Yarrangobilly Caves area of the Northern part of Kosciuszko National Park, and do some decent day walks. I'm starting to plan which routes. Take A Walk by John and Lyn Daly (pub 2010) has been helpful, as has Best Bushwalks in Kosciusko (sp) NP by Harry Hill. All of the walks in this latter book are in this sector of the park, as he is based in Tumut. His directions and descriptions are pretty comprehensive, but my version of this book was published in 1996, and so I'm concerned some parts may have changed significantly in the 18 years that has since passed, tracks overgrown, features or signs removed. Does anyone know of a more recent edition?
Also, any 'don't miss' places?
I'm thinking of Jounama homestead ruins (14km) Coolamine homestead and the Blue Waterholes/Clarkes Gorge/Nicholls Gorge Circuit (12 km), Old Currango (10km) and a visit to Kiandra Plain. This should also allow us time to do a cave walk, have a dip in the thermal pools and hopefully a trip to Adaminaby.

I've found both books to be pretty accurate. You may also like to visit Pocket Hut and Oldfields Hut. Also the homestead at Currango is interesting.

Hi Kanangra. I just read your northern Snowies trip report. Where is Long Plain road now locked? One of the day walks I'm intending is the Jennings walks (Ckarkes Gorge and Nichols Gorge) accessed via Blue Waterholes. To get to Blue a Waterholes we need to go down Long Plain Road for about 25km. Is the locked gate on Long a Plain Road you encountered on your walk past this ?

Yes well past that. There are in fact two gates one at the far northern end and one at the Southern end. Both are locked during the winter. You will have no issues driving into Blue waterholes now.

Hi OneStepmore, I know this area pretty well. It is all pretty open country and depends on what you are seeking to do...Camping at Blue Water Holes at Easter is fun, but crowded...however, there is plenty of walking around there...honestly just follow your nose. I took my young boy there a couple of years ago and we ended up stalking a mob of wild brumbies...got to within 100 m of them before they spotted us. Brilliant. Enjoy the high country...I love it. Yes I'm looking forwards to our trip. We're actually taking the cruisy way out and have 3 nights booked at Yarrongabilly Caves House for our family. I've planned day walks and trout fishing, we'll do a cave walk and have a dip in the thermal pools, and do some sightseeing activities if the weather isn't good.
