transport out of the Overland Track

Postby AnnieT » Tue 29 Apr, 2014 8:09 pm

Hi there! We are a couple from Singapore and having looooots of trouble looking for transport out of the overland track. i.e. Cynthia Bay to Launceston. I'm now looking at 2 options:

1) charter a bus from Cynthia Bay to Launceston which cost $330 for the both of us unless we can find more people to share. so is there any cheaper option???

2) renting a car and park at Lake St. Clair, take a bus from Lake St. Clair to Cradle mountain, BUT we can't find any transport to do so! (i was actually thinking if taking a taxi is an option, but also, can't find any info on it.)

would be really grateful if anyone can help with this!

just another small question, anyone has any idea if butane canister can be easily found in Launceston?

Thank you! Have a great day!

Plenty of options available in Launceston re: fuel for stove there are about 8 hiking stores dotted around town.

Cant help you regarding transport back to Launny though!

Better to fly into Launceston and out of Hobart. And you get to see more of Tassie that way. Tassielink buses service both ends of the track. Read my post to this similar thread.

Hi AnnieT,
What dates are you looking at travelling? Perhaps sharing transport could be an option??
