Possible to camp on Mt Owen in The Bundawangs?

Postby bushtucker » Sun 04 May, 2014 2:05 pm

Hi all,

Is it possible to camp with tents on Mt Owen in The Budawangs? I expect that it would be beautiful to wake up there in the morning for sun up.

Cheers and thank you,

Daniel

Hi Dan,

The short answer is "yes".

However, it wouldn't be my choice of locations. It's very scrubby up on Mt Owen and, where there is an open patch, very rocky. Of course, up on top there is no water (other than rock-puddles after a recent rain).

Still, great views from the plateau - well worth the effort (even if you don't camp up there).

Well, don't omit the climb onto the Castle for this view.
