Wayno they are also charging for dispersed camping......in other words just camping
any where that is not an official campsite.

I can see that this is not going to go well.
In a way I do pity the poor buggers who have to enforce it....mission impossible I'd suggest.

The element of these fees that pees me off most is that the charge is for up 6 people per site, sounds
generous until you realise it's same price for one, it's *&%$#! outrageous.

I've never bothered to contact a member of parliament before but I have over this one.
I was basically fobbed off by a reply from some flunky repeating all I had complained about but saying
it will be good for me and fair to everyone. f$%ckwits! I vote in November.

By the way....I'd love to be a fly on the wall when a ranger has to tackle a bunch of rampant boguns
at somewhere like Murrundindi reserve........

You've still got to get into and out of the area and you'll have your car parked at an access
point. Unless you want to walk another on the road distance to avoid that.
Not so simple Wayno.

Sounds like misplaced trust if you guys just camp in well hidden sites to avoid fees.
Maybe I've got the wrong end of the stick... who is trusting who?

They're gonna have to put manned toll booths at the entrances of parks, just like in the US ones... Oh wait, that would mean having clear park boundaries with no highway passing through them and no towns in them... Only a few parks meet that criteria, amongst them Wilsons Prom because it's a peninsula with one road leading to it.

As pointed out, all this will lead to widespread fraud, then confrontation with rangers, then rangers fed up of it and not bothering to check for payment anymore. Then the VIC gov will be surprised as to why there is no more money in the parks...
