John

The waldheim cabins are located in the park itself and the benefit is you walk out the door and start the Overland without the need for a bus ride in the morning.

The cabins are basic but in a great location to start the walk.

There is also a caravan park with cabins just outside the park nearly opposite where the shuttle leaves at Cradle Mt. Think it may be Discovery Holiday Park...

At the Southern end there are various options at Cynthia Bay but we stayed at the Derwent Bridge pub out on the highway. They even came and picked us up at Cynthia Bay. Reasonable rates and filling food. We left a bag with our change of clothes etc there so we didn't have to carry it on the walk.
