Buying new boots - gore tex or not?

TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

do a search, the subject has been discussed at length before,
if you're posting a question at least post some background about what sort of trips you're looking at and where.
a post like this is pretty lazy, dont make other people dig for information, give them something to go on..
the answers arent always black and white, yes and no.... and the answer given will be determined by the information you do or don't provide...

Sometimes is not really a choice either. I tried on every boot in Hobart for my current pair and those that fit best just so happened to be GTX - which wasn't actually my preference.

Buying new boots - gore tex or not?

There can be two outcomes. 1) Thank heavens I bought GTX! 2) Thank God I didn't buy GTX! All depends on the circumstance and use as to which outcome eventuates.
Just move it!
