WTB: Early Winters Omnipotent or similar

Postby Chezza » Thu 21 Apr, 2016 1:27 pm

Just wondering if anyone has a complete Early Winters Omnipotent / Omnipotent SL / Paradigm / Winterlight.

Would give it a good home. Happy to take something in pretty poor condition so long as there are no missing bits.

Thanks for looking.

There is a Biblier I-tent on gumtree for something a bit exotic. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/greenway/camping-hiking/four-season-tent-bibler-i-tent/1080418397

Thanks, but not quite what I'm looking for. I'm after Early Winters stuff only.

There are a few in eBay but I thought I'd look for one closer to home before paying for the shipping.

Hi Cheeza
That's a trip down memory lane.
I have a ?Winterlight from 1981.
Reasonable condition.
Last used in Tasmania about 5 yrs ago
with a fly and groundsheet!

Three hoops tunnel, single skin Goretex 1,
Very radical & expensive tent back then but always leaked.
Cant imagine what the designers were doing as it came from Seattle
which is notoriously wet.

What are your plans for these vintage objects?
I am away for the next few days but can post again next week.

There's a few on eBay and I'm surprised at the prices they command given the state they must be in. Collector's value?

They were beautiful. And the progenitor of all tunnel tents from what I can gather.

According to the catalogue, it weighed 2.5kg despite using 2.2oz fabric, fibreglass poles, a full inner and having a reputation for stability. Part of why I want one - I have to see that to believe it.
