Was just making a little contribution on OpenStreetMap and note that it now has added LPI NSW topo as one of its overlays in the editing interface.
Isn't this great?
No more guess work on drawing in all the little creeks and cliff lines. Otherwise I was disappointed to see the latest Bing Aerial overlay for the Blackheath area had significant errors.
Just move it!

The little creeks are not always great, even on the LPI NSW Topo layer! Much better than nothing though.

Yes, appreciate that. But it's often better than guessing the course on aerial imaging alone. Now we can compare LPI base map, LPI aerial and Bing aerial for the more critical. The additional advantage is to have comparable data b/n one's paper map and what's on the Garmin GPS screen.

Which editing interface is this available in GPS?

The first edit interface - Edit with iD (in-browser editor). Then select the background from the side bar on the right. I haven't checked within the other edit interface options.

Thanks for that GPS. It seems to be only in the in browser editor.
EDIT -----
I just discovered that JOSM has it in the imagery list......wow.

It's fantastic and with thanks to whoever implemented it. It'll mean we can significantly improve the OSM dataset in terms of accuracy and detail. Given what I've seen in the progressive cutbacks in LPI topo maps on bushwalk relevant features, at least now we can preserve them digitally on OSM.
