Cooloola great walk and wilderness trail - 6 days.

Hello new here, first post and first major walk for a long while. Here are some images I share with the hiking world out there, I go to Fraser Island in the near future for a 6 day hike. Thanks from Mark.

Thanks for sharing Mark. What did you think of the walk? I hadn't thought of doing it your way - combining the wilderness and great walks to avoid such a long car shuffle.

Yes Champion, that was my intent (easy drop off & pick up)
I have noted exactly where to cross the river if I do it again.
I guess around 500m south of Camp one, look across and you will see some logs set up as a bit of a landing, that is the wilderness trail.

Champion what is the walk like south of Dutgee? Did I miss much?

I know this is a little old, but I thought I'd answer the question about south of Dutgee.

In my opinion, Dutgee to Brahminy is the highlight of this walk. On the western edge of the blow, you'll see as far south as glass house and all the way round to NNW. From the crest you can see the ocean. If you get up top just after significant rain, the sand will still be moist in patches which makes it a different colour. Near the bottom, you'll see two different coloured sand patches side by side. Get up there early morning before the wind starts and you'll see a striking number of wildlife trails and prints. There is also an informal track to the beach.

You will note that the GW come close to the coast just north of Brahminy, this is where you have some of the best views, one spot you see south to Noosa NP and north to Double Island Point.

If you spend time on the sand blow and do the beach track, you'll need to watch you water supply as there is no creeks and water hole on this leg till Brahminy with the usual tank.

I did it north to south and caught a greyhound bus to Rainbow Beach, which takes out the whole car shuffle thing.

I'll be doing Noosa River by Kayak in a weeks time and will do the walk up to the sand blow as a afternoon / night walk
