There was a largish HR burn there a few months ago.

That's interesting to hear, I've gone there a dozen+ times now and never seen a leech. I can see how the environment down by the river might harbour them though.
EDIT: Went there today. Burt area is minimal, no leeches

I went to marramarra via smugglers ridge about 1.5 months ago. Didnt notice any burn areas.
