I haven't been to this end of the Eastern Arthurs yet but I'm guessing from the top of Luckmans Lead or that kind of area?

Tomberli has it, Kameruka Morraine.
This was New Years Eve day last year, very, very hot & very little water.
The signs of the approaching front (thunder storm) are in the clouds.
Over to you Tomberli...

View looks vaguely familar but I defintely haven't been to that spot. So a couple of guesses:

1. Mt Olympus from the Cuvier Valley.

2. Below Mt Pelion West.

Its not Olympus, its not Pelion West and I'm not at Lee's - but at least you guys got the right park!

Its a magical little spot though that we are at - the picture really doesn't do it justice

How about southern edge of Cathedral Plateau from one of the clearings in the Never Never?

It really does look like Castle Crag from around the DuCane hut area. What about from the clearing I remember seeing from Cathdral Mt.

Well done Nick S - spot on. Its the little clearing on the side of the Mersey. Was one of the most scenic campsites I had yet seen. Unfortunately the weather came in a bit when we were there. Did a round trip to the top of Cathedral and then along the Mersey out to Lees.

Over to you, Nick!

Thanks tomberli, I remember looking down at that clearing and thinking how perfect it looked as a place to camp. Was it difficult to get to?

Not really. There is no track of course but you just follow the Mersey. Its all just the most gorgeous rainforest, lots of fallen trees but almost no thick scrub to stop you. We got there in a (relaxed) day from Junction Lake. Its so cool though when you spend the entire day in the forest without getting any of those views and then you come onto that little clearing and you can see up at the Du Canes and are virtually right underneath the Landslide on Cathedral. Quite impressive - still wonder why there is a clearing there when everything else is thick rainforest.

I love that kind of forest, I remember the part of the track toward the western end of the never never where you walk beside the mersey river. The sun was coming in through all the myrtle beech trees, golden coloured water, fairytale sort of place.. Well I'd like to check that place out sometime :)

First impression is that you are looking at Rocky Cape probably from the edge of the park on the east side?

Looking towards Anniversary Point from near Sisters Beach. Maybe from the headland above Lee Archer cave?
