One of Australia's greats, Kelly is essentially an 80s artist and plenty of hits

Nice.
Another chap in a bit more sombre troubador mode from 1980.
Saw him live on the Don Lane show 1979 (it's on Youtube-'On the nickel' with two excellent interviews) one night and had to get the album.
Remember my mum --"get to bed"!
Still got the album/cassette 'Heart attack and Vine.' Bliss.

Released in Oz 1980. If the windows in the house aren't shaking- it's not loud enough.

I've got lots of Neil but nothing from the 80s proper. Didn't he crack it with Geffen or something and deliberately make difficult records for a while?

I think it's (80') called the experimental phase? Because I think as you say he had some falling out so didn't he just go completely his own way?
I think I saw him at the end of the 80s at Melbourne Tennis joint.
Touring with Crazy Horse. First half of the concert acoustic. Superb.
All the clowns around me fell asleep for most of the acoustic set from the whacky tobaccy indulgence before the concert.
Then they all went out for another choof at the interval and promptly came back in and fell asleep again.  Gold.
Then the second half of the concert ELECTRIC -he strums the chords to this song and they all wake up! Some fell out of their seats!
I nearly wee'd myself it was so funny.
Most then went back to sleep (must have been a good big interval choof) while Young created the biggest and loudest maelstrom Melbourne may have ever seen/heard
I have never heard anything so loud in my life, but the sound quality was just perfect.
Bliss.

... until Rory Gallagher at The Palais in 1991. Despite the widespread choofing, no-one fell asleep. And everyone was up and dancing in the aisles when he did the best ever version of Bullfrog Blues the world has known as part of the encore.

Let's just say I couldn't hear properly for three days.
The first album I ever bought (with my mum's money) was a Rory album for my brother. Don't know which one but he flogged it while he was home so much and loudly I think my mum regretted  me (us) getting it for him.

Reminds me of a long walk with a mate a few years ago. Clash, Cure, Stranglers, Generation X, Xray Specs... have got anything this century? No, why?

Lots of good music around. New bands/singers, old bands/singers still going.
Sometimes you just have to say good bye to Acker Bilk and Kenny G. Are you finished with my Celine Dion cassette I loaned you?
I want it back.

It's strange. Maybe using scarcity to drive sales? Otherwise something only a licencing lawyer could understand. It's guaranteed to turn up to watch somewhere once it's festival run has finished I'd say.
