I'll give it stepbystep - sorry stu.
This is heading towards Schnells Ridge just after crossing the first small ridge on the Red Tape Creek track - as it drops down towards the Anne River - which you can see in the photo by the tree line as it heads into its gorge.

1. a small or inferior crown.
2. an insignia for the head, worn by peers or members of nobility.
3. a crown-like ornament for the head, as of gold or jewels.
4. the lowest part of the pastern of a horse, just above the hoof.

Can't think of the name though :P

Hehe indeed.... Trust you to make your first appearance in ages on THE GAME with an attempt to foil me....

Yeh definately Mt Weld. I thought this angle of it might throw someone who had never been to where we are...

I had just figured Mt Weld before I read on, but I was particularly taken with the angle on Lots Wife - and you can just make out the cliff edges of Mt Lot on the far top right.

Hmm - people have been told you are self advertising again - so they can choose between Alderbaran, Bowes and Coronets and Dan got the Coronets wrong.

Then we know you are looking at Weld and Lots Wife..
But it is a weekend and many have been out walking. [I got to stretch the limbs in Royal National Park.]

Maybe one day a few new bloods will join in the fun - but for now I think you were on Mt Bowes.
Where does the track go up from? I presume you must have come from the road to Scotts Peak?

Haha bite me Dan! We lost a bit of time losing the track early, then when we got back the lurte of the possum shed was too strong! In the end we didnt make it before closing time anyway.
Besides I was with 2 other guys and they arent QUITE as peak obsessed as I am....

Eggs, the track starts off Mueller road ( the scotts peak road end ) about 200mtrs in. It follows the old port davey track and is quite a pleasant walk!

Standing on the Overland Track with your back to Cradle Cirque looking over Fury Gorge to Little Plateau. Knutters Knoll in the cloud to the left.

I will give it to you Tastrekker - though I have never heard of Knutters Knoll

It was on the OT between the Lake Rodway track junction and the Barn Bluff track junction looking over Fury Gorge - but the peak in cloud on the left is definitely Barn Bluff

Thanks Eggs. The view of Barn Bluff from Waterfall Valley closely resembles the hill which features in The Goodies Episode, U-Friend or UFO which was their spoof of "Close Encounters of a Third Kind". I'm off to collect TT junior from school. I'll be back with a photo shortly. As I'm home from work I should be able to dig something suitable up from my archives!

No. Eldon Bluff is quite central so I'll split the state 50/50 and say it's further north.

Think you might be on Mt Jerusalem TT. Looking down on Lake Thor. One of the great places in Tassie.

Well done Gerry. You're on the money. We're descending Mt Jerusalem to the north after camping at Lake Tyre (foreground) en route from Higgs Track to Moses Creek. I was taken by how much Thor looked like a map of Tassie complete with King and Flinders. The other major puddle is one of the Daisy Lakes. The peaks are (from R to L) Turanna Bluff, Mersey Crag and Western Bluff with its head in the clouds.

Thanks TT. Hadn't noticed before but Lake Thor does look like a map of Tassie.

Here's one with a little difference. I haven't done much in the way of overnighters so my options are limited.

Gerry, that looks like you're walking back down from Mt Donaldson in the West. Excellent easy-ish short day walk with unimpeded views at the top. Apparently all that extensive track work has been done in the last 18 months or so. Even so it gets quite muddy/slippery if very wet conditions prevail. If correct I'm unable to post another pic before tomorrow night so someone else can have a go to keep it moving.

Thanks for the photo Mark.
I had always wondered what the view would be like over this lake.

I presume your campsite probably had a short walk to a great view over it as well?
