Well either this games dead or perhaps on palliative care.

this ones in England and it's pretty hard so I will accept the best inacurate answer if it means reviving the patient.

Slapp av. Perhaps your expectations for this version are too high. A popular search engine tells me you are at the St Bees seafront beach. It's possible I didn't need to search.

Sadly I will accept St Bees as it's close enough .

And I've also learned some Norwegian today so all is not lost, or last as it were!

Slap Av indeed.

Last: the correct answer was 50 m from St Bees Beach.... talk about being pedantic.

As for this picture of yours I'll throw Akerhus Fortress into the mix.

I found the information pillar on a search engine including an image but failed to look for a scale to calculate distance. Will try harder in future.

Not Akershus Festning. Correct sort of feature but a long way from there.

Things look a little lean for tourists in this country. That doesn't look like EU approved signage. Is that an Olive Tree? Somewhere in the Balkans?

Lots of tourists in this country, part of the EU, can't comment about the signage or the plants. Yes to the Balkans, using the Wikipedia definition.

Wheelchairs excepted, Is everyone supposed to take the travelator up the steps for safety, and then climb that massive exposed ladder?

Thankfully there is a main entrance. This is the somewhat precarious disabled entrance. There's a small carriage at the top that the victim travels in. A head for heights or a blindfold would be required. A bit of a joke really because the site at the top is very uneven, not good for wheelchairs.

This is a well known site.

Yes eggs. Looking across Lake Wakatipu from the TSS Earnslaw. We went over to the Walter Peak farm for dinner.

Unfortunately we couldn't get over there due to the massive wildfire that sprang up in 2017. Saw it from the city billowing up one evening and remained the principal news topic the rest of our visit.

Let's go across the Pacific to Canada. One for the rail buffs:

John, haha, it looks like you have enticed me back into the game with a craftily chosen picture. What you have there is a big 4-8-2 Mountain-type loco built by the Canadian Locomotive Company. Produces a nassive 49500 lbs tractive effort which is in the same ball park as a NSW 60 Class Beyer-Garrett, phew! Google tells me that this example, # 6015, is rusting in peace in Jasper, Alberta. I don't know if there are any "live" examples still out there?

You've done your research well Greg. I read the information plaque on the locomotive when we visited Jasper but can't recall the details now. It's definitely a big mountain loco but I didn't realise it's in the same power range as the Beyer-Garrett. I think there is still one of those down at the Thirlmere rail museum, close to prime bushwalking territory. I don't know if the Canadians are still running this engine live anywhere but I'd be surprised if there isn't a volunteer group maintaining the heritage.

Thanks John. Keeping with the transport theme, where in the UK did I spot this aircraft? (Yes, there is a hint in the picture of the same kind that helped me locate John's mountain loco).
