I'm thinking the clue refers to Pantoneys Crown, so might be Baal Bone Point or Point Cameron in the distance.
In that case this is probably one of the numerous unofficially named features in Gardens of Stone NP that aren't on a map.
My experience in the area is very limited, so no idea. See if someone else can work it out.

You're definitely on the right track John - it is an unofficially named feature.

Doesn't look like there are any takers... so back to you John.
It known as Plain of Shards or Exploded Pagoda, and that's Baal Bone Pt at the back.

Thanks Keith. I'm aware that the GoS and surrounding areas are currently being actively championed by prominent bushwalkers/conservationists.
I'm guessing some of those feature names will eventually make it onto maps but are a bit obscure if you haven't visited them.

The watercourse below might not be large. And a nearby peak behind me might not be blunt.

Via a different route you can walk past many blue gums to a point somewhere below me, where it becomes schedule 2 water catchment land, no public access.

Yes that's it dingo. End of the Buxton Plateau Trail at Buckland Wall, next to Sharp Peak and above the confluence of Little River and Blue Gum Creek in Nattai NP.

Bernie, according to the rules of the game, you should be posting a non-Tasmanian image here. I.e. one from any other of the states and territories.

Really? Before posting, I read the rules from the 1st page (note the 'rules' link is broken) and concluded that Tassie was valid :
First to guess the right location gets to post the next picture of a location somewhere in an Australian National Park. Because pictures could come from any state, I will ask you please to post a picture with a good quality skyline or with heaps of visual clues to allow players to work out where the picture was taken.

I believe it's OK to post an image from Tas but can't find the exact rule right now. It's been done previously.
I think it relates to the origins of the site/game and Tasmanians who may not have any non-Tas photos.

EDIT: Bernie has found it.

Yep, with Mt Gould out of shot, just off to the right.

The day before, we had taken 11 hours to go from Lake Oenone, over Olympus, down to Byron Gap then tedious slow slow slow bush-bash down to Narcissus so it was a delightfully restful afternoon spent wandering around the end of the plateau, rewarded with a lovely sunset.

Going north and something a bit different: where in Queensland would you find this? Bonus TimTam if you can give it a name.

"Normanton has a much photographed statue in the main street which is a life size replica of the biggest crocodile ever captured in Australia. “Krys” the crocodile, named after the Polish hunter who shot it in 1957, measures 8.63 metres."

Thats my best guess.

Thanks Greg, I remember your infamous Mt Larcom incident. Nice recovery.
I've managed to unearth a photo from my limited Victorian collection that I haven't posted before (I hope).

I think that's feathertop from Buffalo, not much granite like that as such an elevation anywhere else.

Yes definitely on Buffalo, from one of the lookouts between the chalet and Lake Catani from memory. All yours.
